Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Independent Financial Advisor to join our ambitious team, working within a prestigious accountancy firm in North Yorkshire. We are fiercely independent, with our advice focused around tax planning and the long-term wealth management needs of our private and business owner clients.

Suitable applicants must have a deep level of knowledge of all pension structures, familiarity with platform-based investment solutions and all protection products. Working closely with a team of accountants, you must be confident, professional and able to spot opportunities from the portfolio of existing clients as well as comfortable generating new business and networking with other professional connections.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain existing client relationships and develop new ones
  • Conduct financial assessments to understand client’s financial goals and needs, creating long term, personalised wealth management plans to meet client’s financial goals and on-going advice reviews
  • Provide clients with advice on investments, retirement planning, insurance, and other financial matters
  • Keep up-to-date with financial products and services available in the market
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards
  • Meet and exceed income targets
  • Be an ambassador of our business

Person requirements

  • Level 4 (Diploma) qualified as a minimum
  • Proven experience as an independent financial/wealth management advisor, in particular working with business owners
  • Ideally have a portfolio of existing clients
  • Comfortable undertaking business development with other professional connections
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial products and services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • At least a basic ability to read a set of company accounts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Personable and friendly attitude
