Job Description

Working on an extensive and broad portfolio of audit clients, within the owner managed and corporate space, the Audit Senior will work alongside Audit Managers on key and mid-tier accounts. This is a client facing role, establishing strong relationships with a significant number of business owners across the Yorkshire region.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the management and delivery of assignments
  • Preparing client deliverables (including Audit Findings Report), building relationships with the client (including their teams) and acting as an ambassador for the business
  • Planning assignments, including budgeting and use of analytical review
  • Attendance at stock takes
  • Supervising, delegating and reviewing work of assistants
  • Preparation of accounts (including those under FRS102 and 1A)
  • Identifying, researching and helping to resolve technical issues which may arise
  • Develop a strong commercial understanding of the client’s businesses and any developments within it
  • Initiate and work with other service lines across the business to the benefit of the client including referring opportunities where relevant and minimising risk (to both the business and the client)
  • Forming relationships with the national Audit & Assurance team across the wider business, sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • You will be expected to attend training to further develop and maintain your technical skills and if not yet attained to work towards a professional qualification

Person requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in audit, ideally obtained within Practice
  • ACCA, ICAS or ACA qualified
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and a high level of attention to detail
  • Recent accounting and audit experience is essential, including knowledge of UK GAAP, ISAs and Companies Law
  • Exposure to owner managed businesses is also essential
  • Technical ability with a knowledge of recent developments in relation to accounting and audit regulations
  • Drive and resilience to deliver high levels of customer service
  • Commitment to building the reputation of Fortus through the quality of work provided, knowledge demonstrated and client experience
  • The role includes regular travel to client sites so a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential
