VAT’s impact on a construction business’s cash flow

I liaise directly with construction companies to discuss their projects and identify elements within work that may qualify for Research and Development (R&D).
If you snapped me in half, I’d have construction running through me! I’ve worked on construction sites for nearly 30 years, 20 years as a carpenter/joiner. I have experience in residential, commercial, education, and healthcare environments too. In 2012, I was offered the position of Assistant Site Manager, and shortly after, promoted to Site Manager. Within this role, I had the privilege of overseeing prestigious projects including Red Bull Racing, Mercedes F1, NEXT and Weetabix.
The pandemic made me reflect on my home/work-life balance. The life of a site manager requires 12-14 hour days and missing out on family time. Working with Fortus enables me to still be deeply involved in Construction, which I know and love, but now I’m lucky enough to enjoy breakfast and dinner with my young family.
Personally, I enjoy running, listening to music and refurbishing my home.
