1. In 40 words or less, describe your role at Fortus

I work in the Property team, and spend the vast majority of my time either advising clients on the sale or letting of their commercial property, or buying commercial property for clients.

 

2. Which of our Fortus values resonates most with you and why?

Distinctive – I like to offer professional advice to clients, but also know that property’s built on personal relationships, so effective communication and building trust is essential, and I know that leads to deals.

 

3. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

My Bike. Nothing beats a bike ride!

 

4. What’s on your playlist right now?

Tame Impala – Slow Rush. Although my Spotify choices change all the time.

 

5. What’s the last thing you watched on TV and why did you choose to watch it?

The Trial of the Chicago 7. A brilliant historical drama, that really makes you think.

 

6. Best book you’ve ever read?

Jaws. Probably one of my favourite films as well.

 

7. If you could time warp yourself to any point in history when would it be, who would you hang out with?

1880s, and hang out with Hugh Munro, a famous Scottish mountaineer who compiled the list of all Scottish mountains over 3,000ft. I’m fascinated to find out how he mapped the height, came up with the routes, and also dealt with the Scottish winter, in just a woolly jumper, plus a moustache was more socially acceptable then.

 

8. What superpower would you want and why?

Teleporting – Just a really easy way to travel

 

9. What’s your biggest inspiration?

Having a good quality lifestyle. I love my job, it’s provided me with loads of personal and professional opportunities, but getting to do what I want, when I want is also incredibly important to me.

 

10. What’s on your bucket list?

Travel around the US, specifically California!

 

11. If you could live in a foreign country, where would it be?

Boulder, Colorado, US. Spent 2 weeks on holiday there last year, hired a campervan and toured around. So many good roads to ride, and mountains to climb.

 

12. Describe your perfect day?

Up at 5am, run up a mountain for a sunrise ride, swim in a loch, coffee at home, and a cooked breakfast for lunch!

After munching on some food, I’d then watch a mountain stage of the Tour de France in the afternoon with more coffee, before heading back into the hills for a sunset mountain run.

Then 10 hours sleep…
